Jastarnia
The popular beach resort and former fisherman's town
Jastarnia is located on the Hel Peninsula, which
streches 35 kilometers into the Baltic Sea. The resots on the
peninsula are popular summer destinations, as sun bathers can
choose to swim either in the Baltic Sea or in the more quiet Bay of
Puck.
The town of Hel is the best known town on the peninsula, as it is
the town at the very end of the landslide. The municipality of
Jastarnia however is more popular with tourists who are looking for
sandy beaches and lively entertainment. Who wants to have a break
from beach life, can visit in Jastarnia two fishermen museums as
well as a number of bunkers from World War II.
Neighbouring Jurata, located approximately 2
kilometers east from Jastarnia, has a more upscale atmosphere.
Hotels and restaurants are more exclusive in this seaside resort,
which has been a popular destination for the Polish jetset since
the 1930s.
