Kołobrzeg is located at the northern end of road 11, which goes via Koszalin to Poznan. It has a direct rail connections with nearby Koszalin and Białogard, as well as with Warsaw. The nearest airports are those of Szczecin and Gdansk.

Kołobrzeg is located around 40 kilometers west of Koszalin, at the end of road 11, which continues from Koszalin to Poznan and Wroclaw. Road 163 goes south to Włacz and road 102 connects Kołobrzeg to the west with Miedzyzdroje.
